Councillor Alex Romankiw has lived in Blaby District for most of his life, growing up in Braunstone before moving to Enderby in 2016. He wishes to get involved and do his bit to help improve the Parish in which he lives.

Alex is a civil engineer on major infrastructure projects. I have managed work packages worth several million pounds, and have a proven track record of delivering projects on time and budget. In his role he has managed multiple contractors, liaised with various stakeholders, clients, local & national authorities, and the general public (including letter-drops & canvassing).

Alex also has experience with voluntary organisations and charities. He is currently an Events Secretary for the Institution of Civil Engineers East Midlands Graduates & Students Committee and also works with the committee of the Leicester Cycling Campaign Group and an online special interest group. He has also held other committee positions in the past, and volunteered including as a steward for the Olympic Torch Relay through Leicestershire in 2012.

He believes Enderby Parish faces many challenges. A growing population, high levels of traffic congestion & parking problems, a significant older population, and community severance. These are some of the challenges he wishes to tackle.

Partly thanks to his profession, he is a big believer that infrastructure such as streets, paths, green spaces, & public transport are key to solving some of these issues and making places better to live. Although involved in organisations such as cycling groups, there are many other methods to improving places for people, in particularly the elderly and less-abled.

He is dedicated and hard-working and keen to make a change in his local area.
